For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Mixed Emotions
Tonight I got a call from my son (BC on Thursday)....his knee was hurt or swollen or something....he is in SEPS (?) he says he will be home within 2 weeks.
I didn't ask how his knee was...I was in total shock...I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He said he would see another doctor to find out if this medical discharge was permanent or temporary....What in the world does that mean? And why does it take 2 weeks?
He also asked for me to call "Chief" on Monday and he would call first to give me the number.
I'm so disappointed...I'm so confused....I missed my son but I did not want him to not finish his career in the Navy.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Go to ship 5 formerly group they will support you and can answer lots of questions for you. Sorry to hear about your sailor hope all works out for him.

Bless your heart! Will keep looking for your updates, hope and pray it is temporary, dont feel bad you didnt ask how is knee was, my reaction would of been the same. I dont anything can prepare you for that phone call and a situation i never even thought about...hang in there and keep posting your updates! HUGS!

So sorry to hear this. I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Even though we all spent a day together and none of us met, I feel like we're a family. My reaction would have been the same, too. I do hope his knee gets better soon. Praying for you and your son.
