I received a call from my Daughter and as excited I was to hear her voice, it was'nt a personal call. The navy had her call me for ALOT of back ground information on our family, places we lived, marriage dates, Schools and references. I dont understand why they are asking now, I thought this was all taken care of during the 6 months she was waiting to leave for bootcamp? My poor daughter was crying ( she's homesick ) and stressed out. I felt so bad for her because I know how tough bootcamp is already and felt so bad she is going through the extra stress. Has this happend to any other Moms? I was able to collect everything they asked for and Emailed it to them last night, but again I thought this was done before she left....But the POSITIVE, I got to speak to my little girl! Whoo Hoo !!!

I feel her anguish..it is really sometimes hard to be away from your loved ones.  I hope and pray that the reason why she is crying is because she is only homesick.

Bittersweet I'm sure - happy to hear her voice and yet stressful to hear her crying.  I'm sure she misses you too!  But the positive was most definitely the sound of her voice!  I'm happy for you!

I am glad to hear that you had an extra chance to talk to her.  Hearing her cry had to be real hard on you too.  I would have started myself.  She will get through this and it will just make her that much better of a person than she already is.  My heart goes out to both of you.

The additional background information isn't unusual.  What's her rate?
