I got my first (well 2 came the same day) real letter almost a week ago, and haven't gotten another one since. He said the phone calls where coming up, in the one letter.. Haven't gotten that either...

How do yall do it? I'm haven a really hard time...

Also the letters were dated Feb 13th, and 19th. I didn't get them till the 25th... Is that just the mail being slow down here, or is that normal? Oh, I did recieve the papers for DEERS and all that. Dated Feb 22, and I got it March 1st...

My son is out on deployment. It wouldn't surprise me if we don't hear from him for 6-7 weeks (that is right 6-7 WEEKS) - just like last time he was out. If we got stuff from him after 1 or 2 weeks, I'd probably get on my knees and thank the good Lord. Better get use to it.  Good luck.

My husband is in his 7th week so I know how you feel! Its all one big waiting game. He would write and tell me one thing, then in his next letter say a totally different thing was happening now. Just try to remember that no news is good news. He has gotten 4 calls which were all no more then 20 mins and while it was amazing to hear from him, my heart always sank a little when I saw that 847 area code. I didnt want him to be calling with bad news. They only mail out letters on sundays, until about half way through, then you could get letters 3x a week. Hang in there its tough, but I promise it does get easier and it will be over before you know it!!

Is he in Boot Camp?  They usually only get to write once a week and the mail person is a volunteer.  If you've received a letter and your Grad info that's pretty normal.  I received about 4 real letters the enire time and my son is a big-time writer.  It does get better....you get used to it.

Thank you everyone, I'm trying to "get use to it"...

It's hard going from together 24/7 for almost 4 years, to not seeing him, can't call him or text, and just barely any contact... I find myself thinking he's still here, I'll go to ask his opinion, but when I turn around he's not there...

I keep reading the letters I got over and over again... I just can't wait for a phone call!!
