Well, he's there. Got the call at 7:26 pm last night. He sounded exhausted. I'm so excited for him. Letting him go was hard but I had been processing the separation for about 2 weeks so I was able to keep it together pretty well. Saw more of him in the week before he left than I usually do in a normal month. God be with him, that next phone call feels very far away.

I am getting ready to send my son to BC on Monday. So many things to worry about. I'm glad your son got there ok. What can they take with them? Did he take his cell phone?

Hi Whoshero,
My son went yesterday as well and I got 'the call' (a whole 15 second scripted one like) at 8:30 last nite. I too struggled the last few weeks and TONS the last few days. God be with him and mine and them all. I can't wait for my next phone call! I can't wait to find out his address/ship info, etc. I miss him way to much!

Chetma..mine took his cell and got to use it up till he entered the USO. He texted me when the wheels touched the ground. After that..NADA! Althought..my 'call' last nite (the 15 second scripted sounding one that said he was there and to expect the 'box' and that he can call me in a few weeks came from his personal cell phone. ;-/
Other then that..he had a book to read on the plane and the clothing on his back.

Hi Chetma, Enjoy these last few days...they go fast. He did take his phone with him and I received texts and calls all along the way until the "I'm here, I'm okay, I'll call in 3 weeks or so, I love you, bye" call. His day started at 4 am and he called at 7:26 pm, he was very tired. He is very excited to be there so it makes it easier for me to let him go. His gf is missing him a lot too, he will miss both his and her birthdays so they celebrated early but I know it will be hard for her that he'll be gone. Prayers for all.

Those first 3 weeks will be the hardest. Once you get that address send SOMETHING DAILY! They soooo treasure the letters. And there is always someone who gets no mail at all. Ask your son/daughter if they know anyone like that and if they do, please get their name and send them somthing too.
