Well, today....speaking of yesterday I guess 1/13/11 my daughter got a call from her recruiter and her ship date has been moved up.  I guess I'm gettn the "My daughter is leaving soon blues".  I was thinking maybe it got moved up a couple of days or a week.  Uhhhh, nope it got moved up to just a few days from now.  I think I was in shock to say the least.  I only have a  little over a week left with her.  So, I start to make the most of each and every day and second.  She is thrilled and I'm excited for her but I am a little sad that she will be gone soon.  I guess I really don't have a lot of time to sit around and think about it much.  Just looking forward to her getting through with BC and heading to where she will be training.  I hope all goes great for her.  Just felt the need to blog about it.  I wasn't sure how many more have this happen to them.  It was just so random and unexpected but I'll be fine as long as she is happy and doing with her life in the Navy as she see's fit.  Just pray she will be fine and all goes well.

Hey, like ripping off a bandage, quicker is less painful.  Yeah, right, huh?

Do help her study if she doesn't have her general orders and creed memorized, she'll have to recite them while doing pushups, and can use all the help she can get before she leaves.  Seems like an odd way to bond in the last moment, but trust me, she'll thank you for it.

I had a blast in boot camp, even the worst parts made me proud that I could hack it.  She will HATE the first few days, we all did/do.  Tell here I said "Welcome aboard, shipmate".

Wow, that sureis a surprise.  I had 6 months to prepare and that wasn't even long enough.  All the best to your daughter and don't be afraid to cry (not around her) and savor the moments!

Proud Navy Mom...6 hours???  Whoa, now that is truly fast.  I agree quick is good and neither of us have long to sit around and me all pouty about it.  I don't think she is at all pouty over it.  She is ready to go...like yesterday.  I am looking forward to her telling me of future experiences.  I know once over BC it'll get better.  She is a touch cookie so hope she manages to hang in there and make it through.  Thank you for your kind words and all the best to you and your son as well.

Thanks AJV Navy Mom...it sure was quick notice and time is flying by.  I am enjoying every second I have with her.  We are both nervous about her heading to BC but I'm sure that is normal.  Thanks so much for your kind words and hope you have a great weekend.

Anti M

Thanks so much for sharing the info you provided.  I will let her know what ya said and will pass on the "Welcome, aboard shipmate".  I like how you compared it all to ripping off a bandage...you are sooooo right.

BR549...Thanks for the prayers and I think "Mom" is going to need them more than daughter.  Just gonna keep my fingers crossed that she does well and makes it through BC just fine.  =^.^=
