Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi,
my son is in the div320, havent receive a phone call since 9/06, no letter also, I would like to know if anyone have a son/daugther in the same div, so I could know that everything is okay, maybe any of you have received a phone call or letter.
Check in the discussion for that division, Ship 11(USS Kearsarge) Divisions 319 & 320 (brother divisions), within your PIR group and see if others have gotten anything. Sometimes when things get very busy, you will not get a letter because the recruits spend every extra minute getting ready and last week would have been a very busy week for your SR (see http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433). RDC's schedule calls and the only guaranteed call for you from now on is the "I'm a Sailor! call in the last week. The "I'm a Sailor!" can come on any weekday (F, M-Th) beginning on the day of the previous week's PIR (09/28/2012) to the day before his PIR (10/04/2012). We received the call as we were driving up on the Thursday before PIR. Those calls begin 2ish pm and end 8ish pm Central Time. Don't expect a call before then, but have your phone available at all times 8ish to 8ish pm Central Time and be pleasantly surprised if you receive a call.
Remember, "No news is good news!" Here are some things that you do know: he is safe; he is physically fit or getting there; he is learning new things that will help him throughout his life; he is being fed well; he has any medical and dental needs taken care of; he is making friends, and you know where he is since he is at the RTC. If there was a problem, you would be called and that is not a call you want to receive. You have placed him in the best hands of all--those of God and the US Navy.
