Hello all,
It finally came. Her first letter home. She had some free time to write a couple letters on Sunday April 2nd and it arrived in Washington on Thursday April 8th so that should give you some time frame of postal transit.
She wrote to me and her boyfriend and his family.
She said week one was a tough one because they are processing so many recruits. She is not a fan of showering with 85 women but she finally was going to get to take a real shower now that they had some personal time. She is happy and is really working hard and she likes boot camp. She is a strong cookie. She is athletic, and soaking up the structure. They have had plenty of IT because recruits make mistakes and they all have to take some punishment but she is liking her new life.
She has passed her PT and her Swim test and is going to apply for a leadership role. She was very excited and I hope she gets it.
She should be getting an onslaught of letters from all of us here at home as each day passes. I had cards made by walmart of pictures of all of us and her animals so she could keep them close.
There wasn't anything else I can share but she is doing well and for that I am very happy.
I hope you all got letters from your recruit as well. Have a great evening.
Mama Howdawg.
My son is graduating 5/13 as well, we live in Cle Elum ... so close!!! Just booked our flights, reserved the room and rented a car. So excited to see him. He is doing good, a very home sick young man though
