Please reply here if your child arrived at Boot Camp on 02/16/2010

My son left Lake Charles Louisiana to go to Houton. He actually left Houston and made it to Chicago on 02/16/10. I received his call at 2:00 a.m. so I guess it was on 02/16/10, it coud be considered 02/17/10 depending on what time he hit the RTC.

My son left 2/16 also, and called after 1130pm that night. we received the box on fri. My husband unpacked it before I saw it. I gave him greif for doing that so he reassembled it so I could see for myself. Too early for letters I guess. I didn't know he was suppossed to take phone cards, but maybe he bought them himself. Hope everyone is doing well!

hi my son arrived on 2/16/10 i live in CA, and his call came through at around 9 pm my time. I got the box on Friday as well. I just read on another website that recruits cannot wear contacts throuout BC. They give them thick black plastic glasses with plastic lenses. picturing my son as a nerd. poor guy. I also read that they will be in there for a total of 9 weeks. the first week is for paperwork, dental, vision testing and shot and that week doesn't count. Has anyone else heard this? I hope we get our form letters on monday.

Hello! My daughter arrived at BC on 2-16. I live in Kokomo, IN. I have heard they get their mail call on Sundays so send away on their mail. If you do not have their address yet call the recruiter they do have it. I got my daughters address Friday. They have everything available to them in the NEX such as phone cards, stamps, etc. I have not recieved "the box" yet. Kinda glad I had not yet though because I have not been feeling well and that prob would not have been a good combination. For those of you that have kids with glasses contacts etc. I suggest taking them with you to their PIR. Is anyone here planning on going? I have an approximate date that I think the graduation will be on. I think it will be April 16, or the 23rd. This site is full of information I love it so far and I know it has helped me to keep my insanity. Where are all of your kids going for A school after BC? My daughter is going into the AirCrew program and will be going to Pensacola, FL. I would love to get into contact with all of you please keep in touch and add me to your friends lists!

I looked at the bootcamp for moms link and they had a link to get to the up coming graduation dates in there. My daughters is Ship 13 Div 152 and as of right now it has Div 152 slated for graduation on April 9, 2010. Let me know what DIvisions and Ships your kids are in! Bless You all and Have a good night!

I went to the recruiter on Friday I was able to get the Ship and Division she is in. I also went to the Boot Camp Mom's on the main page here. It has a link in the 1st discussion there and it can take you the families section and the upcoming graduation dates. I had figured on April 23, or April 16 as well but according to my family that is newly retired it could be anywhere from 6-8 weeks from the time they get there till graduation takes place. Maybe they get some through faster then others who knows LOL But anyway I am always checking in on here so when I get information I will definitly post it! Take care and Bless You all!

Hey, I got my son's letter today. He is Ship 06 Div 152 and his scheduled graduation is April 9-10. I tried calling the recruiter this morning. Kept getting no answer. Drove by at lunch and saw the office opened. I stopped in and his Petty Officer was wonderful. Their phones and their computers were down, but she assured me that she would let me know as soon as they were up. She said yes they can look it up a lot faster than the letter gets here. It was a little heartbreaking as his comment said it was harder to be away from home than he thought. We were extremely close and I guess that was a blessing that I received since his Dad and I divorced. He and I had long coversations all the time, and our extended family is together all the time on both sides. I am praying and I know he will be o.k., but it breaks my heart.
