Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Post Graduation back on base- now to A. School

Wow what a day. I'm still on such a proud mama high.

You can meet your child at the airport and hang out with them. Go to the service desk get a security pass and spend the day with your Sailor. They can get their phones, laptops, items purchsed yesterday in a back pack to take to FL. If your Sailor is A School in GL then the rules are different.

So what is your A School experience for your sailor going to be like? Well, my daughter graduated and had PIR for Ship 12 DIV 188 on May 13, 2016. she's heading to Florida.

They head out to the airport at 3:30 am then will be at the USO until mid afternoon Saturday. There is usually a small layover then arrive at FL around 8/9 east coast time.

Once in FL it took about 2.5 hours to get to the compartment and all settled. She was tired and ready for bed so a simpler love you and good night text was good. She is safe and grown up and an adult and a proud Navy Seaman.

There it is folks. The process through my eyes. If your experience is different please share but please keep it positive and do not chastise for things that may be different from your experience.  Each families journey is different,  From start to finish. I hope you all have the best experience going forward. For those whose Seaman are heading abroad I wish you peace and joy and love and prayer to your Seaman and your families. Thank you for your gift to our Nation. It is an honor to have my child in the presence of yours. God Bless and "Fair winds and following seas and long may your big jib draw!".

Gods blessings to all,

I appreciate all your comments.  The posts I make are from our experience and what was told to and provided in written information we received.  If your situation is different that is awesome.  I do not speak for the Navy or endorse anything except what came from our experience. Thank you for replying but please keep it positive.  Things like "FALSE" in capitals is offensive and again this is just my point of view from our experience.  I can provide nothing more.  Thanks and have a great day.
