I received our sons box today. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry. I'm so proud of him but miss him terribly. I'm still waiting for the letter that contains his address and now wonder if I dare send all the letters I wrote and am writing all at the same time. I've never looked forward to a letter so much in my entire life and it IS taking for ever. Patience is a virtue, this I know.

My son left on the 25, we are from Miami, trying to find out if any boday is from this area so maybe we may make plans together for the graduation.

tlbutcher-it seems as if they are being delivered, just taking longer for some of us to receive. I hope it comes tomorrow for you and if not, the next day. My heart grew heavy not receiving the letter, but I continue to pray it comes soon.

Denise-- Seabee Mom- good info on the dates, I did date the letters but I wish I could remember which I wrote first to somehow number them under the stamps...oh wait...I already stamped them..just a little anxious I guess. I will feel much better knowing that I can send what I am writing, even if a return letter does not follow, I know the words of encouragement are needed.

dahlinka-You might try searching under groups for FL Navy Moms and the groups Leavin' for bootcamp in October and October Boot Camp Family

Wishing all you Mom's much strength and peace of mind.

we are still awaiting the letter - he left on the 23rd and I have a weeks worth of letters to send.........this week has gone by so slowly - hope the remaining 8 weeks doesn;t drag on and on..............I watched YouTube boot camp videos and I'm more at ease knowing what they are going through - looks like fun to me!!!

RanesMom- I agree, I hope they don't drag on and on as well. I'm more anxious than ever to receive it now because I've been told that graduations are not held on Saturdays and there's a lot of discussion to the Graduation Date being Dec 21st, which is a Saturday. I'll be sure to post once I know officially. I have a stack of letters to send as well and wonder sometimes if he will have a chance to read them all, but I'm sure it is a comfort to know their families and friends are thinking of them. When I told our son that we are praying and sending lots of encouragement his way, he grew silent and said "Thanks Mom, you have no idea what that means to me right now. Please continue to pray and send positive thoughts, we all need them". Nearly broke my heart. I suppose all that screaming takes some getting used too. As for the video's I'm glad they put you to ease a little more. They have been a source of strength for me and the book Honor, Courage, Commitment (I had to get it from Amazon) was a blessing. I recommend to anyone that is going into the Navy or has a family member going in to read it. I would offer to to send it to you, but I have since passed on to others. Hoping for those letters to make it to our mailbox today or at least by tomorrow for those of us who are still waiting.

thanks for your message - 12/21 we counted it as a Friday - all grads are on Friday - I believe they moved it up a week because of Christmas, so that's why they went on 23 instead of 29.  Maybe we will meet at PIR
