got my letter today, i cant believe it, that was so soon.he left april the 3rd and graduates june 1st
My son is also on Ship 02 Div 929 and his PIR is June 1. We have received just the form letter and the box. Do you have any idea what if any the 929 signifies?
Our son is also on Ship 02 Div 929!! We have received a letter already! You 2 are the only ones I have run into so far on this site! Karis, all my son said is that 929 is the best of the best! Idk what that means exactly, but sounds good. We have wrote him asking him questions to better educate us all! We'll let you know any info thats worth sharing! Hooyah!
No letter for us yet - but our son (Jordan) is not much of a letter writer. I did print and send the funny question and answer sheet from the Navy for Moms bootcamp site - it is pretty funny and perhaps he will answer that. Have been trying to find out more about the 929 division - all I know is it is the performance division - singers, musicians, flag carriers, etc. Glad to hear it is the best of the best. I will pass on any info that I receive and please do the same for me. I live in WI.
I should add that I read 929 "chooses" their SRs, other SRs are assigned. Not sure if true but it is what I read.
Looks like our son Shawn started writing his letters right away and accumulated a few before sending!? I know that he doesn't say much, except that it is a difficult venture, but his faith and prayers get him thru each day. Knowing that all things come to an end is helping him as well. He says its getting better by the day! :) I'll have to look into that sheet. Sounds fun!? Funny, our son isn't the performer type and actually had his heart set out on SWCC, but I guess had to start somewhere. I do know he was his recruiting offices C/O, as they saw leadership in him! We live in California and are planning to come out and see him on June 1. Hope what you have read is true! Awfully proud either way!!! I have family out in WI. He owns a company called "Winter Woods"?
