it took about 3 weeks before i got a letter from my daughter, she explained that they have recruits that have to be trained in taking care of the mail and mail call. I takes time for all that, it is the government. she said her first mail call she had about 15 letters to read. We writer her every day. she said it help a lot to get our letters. keep writing no matter what. you will git one soon.

Matt's Mom, my son is 18.  He joined in the delayed enlistment program last Dec.  As of today on Monday we still have not received any letters or calls from him.  By what I have read though that is to be expected.  We too are writing to him so hopefully he will get our letters.

Hi Matts Mom this is Navy Dads wife. I wanted to let you know we just booked reservations for the graduation in Feb.  We have heard that it is best to do it early. So we went ahead.  I guess it doesn't really matter where you stay but at the Ramada Inn in Waukegan they have a shuttle that will take you back and forth from the base.  We will not have a car while we are there so thought a shuttle sounded good.

We live in Illinois about 300 miles south of Chicago.  We are going to take Amtrak there.  The weather in Illinois in Feb. can get pretty nasty sometimes.  Chicago can have even worse snow and cold there because of the lake.

We have vacationed in Arizona quite a few times in the winter.  You may want to pack some of that sun and warmth with you when you head to Chicago!
