The holiday stand-down has been as late as close of business on 12/18 some years and if that is the case this year, then the dates that recruits will not ship would be 12/21/2015 to 12/31/2015 and they would resume shipping on 01/04/2016. I still have not seen anything official on the dates and they are usually out by now.

My son's leave date was moved up by just one day...December 14th. We also plan on being out of state for the Thanksgiving Holiday. He informed his recruiter of this. They took a lot of information about where we would be and contact info for all involved; but approved his request. We won't be back until December 1st and they were okay with that.

talked with my son's recruiter and he still is going out on December 15th.  We still get to take our family on our cruise for thanksgiving, but as far as celebrating Christmas, not to sure.  Still have a 15 year old son at home, so I might do a tree.  its going to be so weird not having all of my boys home.

My son is also shipping December 15. This is going to be a very tough Christmas without him. It will be the first time we have not been together for Christmas and the first time he has ever been so far from home. We are from Florida.  Will be spending lots of time praying and looking for support I am sure.
