My son left Aug 7th from Nashville going to Great Lakes. He was so excited. I am so proud of him but killing me inside not being able to talk to him every night like I did when he was away at college. He called me at mid night and said he got there and he was ok. He sounded so tired.
Is there anyone else out there who's son left Aug 7th? It is going to be 8 long weeks.
My son left on August 6th from Las Vegas and he was excited too. I feel exactly the way you do. He sent me a text once he arrived at O'Hare and about an hour later I got the call saying he was there and he'll call me again in about 3 weeks. I have started writing letters to him just to keep myself busy and once I get his address I'll be able to send a bunch of them at one time. Yes, its gonna be a long 8 weeks.
My son left Aug 7th from Portland Maine, we got the phone call (at midnight)stating he was there and would call again in 3 wks . Even though this has been a goal of his for a long time, I"m still having a tough time letting go.I started journaling months ago and will enjoy sharing bits and pieces from my journal in letters to him. He is a wonderful son and I know he will do great things for the Navy. I am looking forward to graduation at Great Lakes , haven't recieved any of that info yet. Looking forward to his first piece of mail. It will be a long 8 weeks. Keep writing ladies and we will be strong together.
My son left New Orleans on August 7th from New Orleans.
Our son left also on the 7th, and we received our "kid in a box" today
