Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Son left for BC March 2, 2010....

Hello Mom's/Dad's.....

Yesterday was the day of swearing in at MEPS and our "see you later"/am proud of you" hug. Chase had joined back in June so we knew this day was coming! Since Chase was in the DEP program, he reported to their office on Monday afternoon for final paperwork & drug test. We was able to take him to the hotel & have dinner with him before leaving him at the hotel. We met him at the MEPS office Tuesday morning and spent a couple hours before he headed out to the airport. It was the most empty feeling leaving MEPS and thinking, he's really gone from home and off to bigger adventures now! It's hard to know the emotions he was facing cause he was trying to be tough and "it's ok", you guys can leave. I'll call & write when I can.

We did get a quick call when he landed 9:20 pm in Chicago, I'm here and just ate...will call you again when they allow me too. This final call came from him at 1:10 am and his comments was "Im here and things are ok". Talk to you later, love ya

Any other mom's who has a son/daughter that reported to Great Lakes on 3/2/10? How did it go for you?

Comment by Moe on March 4, 2010 at 8:06am: My son got there on the 2nd as well! Wow--no kidding what an empty feeling, right? I have other kids at home, Tony is my oldest and first to leave and I was/am not really prepared for what this feels like letting go.
