Son left for BC March 2, 2010....

Posted on March 3, 2010 at 5:22pm 3 Comments

Hello Mom's/Dad's.....

Yesterday was the day of swearing in at MEPS and our "see you later"/am proud of you" hug. Chase had joined back in June so we knew this day was coming! Since Chase was in the DEP program, he reported to their office on Monday afternoon for final paperwork & drug test. We was able to take him to the hotel & have dinner with him before leaving him at the hotel. We met him at the MEPS office Tuesday morning and spent a couple hours before he headed out to…

Hi Janiece, I'm on Nuke Moms and have been thinking about your son - did he pass? Did I miss a post? Let me/us know...

Hi! I didn't know your son was also in the same class. My boyfriend is an EM. Have you joined the discussion group on Nuke Moms?

I'm doing great though. How are you? Getting closer to the finish line!

My mistake. I see that yours is waiting for power school, not A school. :)

Maybe coincidental but my son's roomate has been waiting for a month and a half. Could they be roomates? I'll ask what his name is. :)

Hi Chases Mom! I saw your post over at the Nuke site about sending Chase daily texts and setting your alarm for 4am. You inspire me! I am going to try to do the same myself. Although my son would tell me I'm being a pest, I know he loves the attention. I am sure your son feels the same way so don't ever feel your texts are in vain! They may not say much as they have so much going on, but the love and appreciate the solidarity, foundation and love they get from home, so don't stop!

Navy Mom Hugs to you!

I don't know Matt's class #. How do I find out? I know he's training to be an ET. I was hoping to make a batch of brownies this weekend and overnight them on Monday. I had sent him a package a month ago and it was returned to me because he never went to pick it up (so I had to pay Fed Ex fees TWICE). What a stinker!!
I think Chase will find out that hard work really does pay off! My Matt never had to study before, but it caught up with him. At Christmas, he said he's never had to study so hard before and that he's having to learn new study habits (yeah!)

I'll keep Chase covered with prayers - Are the fellows assigned to rooms that are in the same class?

I have a quick question for you. How do you "invite" someone from the group to be your friend? I'm still trying to get all this stuff figured out!!

Yes, I need all the friends I can get!!! I'm not a "helicopter" mom, but it's been implied that I have too much time on my hands - therefore I worry too much. Ha!!! But my friends keep saying "Have you heard anything from Matt? Well, I wouldn't let him not contact me! I would put my foot down and set him straight!" That doesn't work with your son being in the military! I think that's why this group has proven to be invaluable! Thanks for letting me vent!!
Becci
p.s. Thanks for being my friend!!!

Hi! Thanks for the request. We have not heard too much from Matt - he's keeping his personal feelings to himself (as usual). Maybe I can squeeze something out of him this weekend. He did call on the 10th and sounded very tired and also sick. We got a short letter today and he thinks the cold is finally about gone (I was getting worried that it was turning into pneumonia because of lack of rest). He didn't even say anything about BS. It figures that now bootcamp is almost over that I finally am getting an idea of how these groups/discussions etc. work! My kids laugh at my ineptitude! Can't wait to hear the happy news from everyone tomorrow! amy
