Hi,

Just trying to connect with those of you that had a son or daughter that arrived at RTC (Recruit Training Center) 3/2/10.  Our son Chase joined back in June 09 and was enrolled in the DEP program.  He will be doing A school in the Nuke Power program once BC is over.

Hope your first day with your child gone went ok.  We found ourself thinking about Chase non-stop and wondered how things were going.  It was such an empty feeling when he was sworn in yesterday and we left him at MEPS.

Have a great week and look forward to hearing from you.

Janiece  :)

Our son was dropped off at MEPS 3/2 and was suppose to fly out yesterday, but there was some unknown delay and he is now on the plane as I type. Should be landing in less than an hour!
There is a March BootCamp Group you can check out/join. There are several of us who had kids leave 3/2. I'd link you, but don't know how, but if you do a search you should find it no problem, or go to my page and there should be a link there.
Hello My son left to BC March 02, 2010 from Albuquerque New Mexico. What link should I be looking for. Rec'd phone around 8pm he had made it in.
Good Luck to all of you who have sons/daughters leaving for BC in March. I am at my year mark, my son has been in a year on March 17th. It was hard and still is at times, he is my one and only child, but he did good through BC and is now stationed at Camp Smith in HI............so it is almost a year later now and I miss him as much today as I did when he left a year ago, it does get easier but it is still hard at times. When I get to feeling too lonley without him I just remind myself how good he is doing, how happy he is, and how this was a good move for him, he is even starting some college classes in April. He has adjusted so well and is really growing up, so that makes me Happy and I am going to HI in July to see him........not in my wildest dreams would I be going to HI if he wasnt in the Navy. So anyway Good Luck to all of you with new Sailors......it will be a journey for you all. So enjoy.
Hello Janiece,
My 21 year old daughter arrived at RTC the evening of 3/2/10 also. She was so excited and nervous at the same time. Day one was very hard, seemed like all I could do was wonder how things were going for her. The hardest part is not knowing what is happening. But day two has been better, thank God.

Hello My son left to BC March 02, 2010 from Albuquerque New Mexico. What link should I be looking for. Rec'd phone around 8pm he had made it in. Did you receive an address yet? My son is in ship 6 div 924.
Hello,
I'm still trying to figure out the website. Congrat's to your son & your family! I called his recruiter last Thurs and got Chase's address. On Monday, we received "the box" and the first letter "form letter". You should be able to call your son's recruiters office and get that address if you haven't rec'd your form letter yet. It looks like your son's graduation should be on April 30th. If you go to the www.bootcamp.navy.mil you can get all your questions answered about boot camp, upcoming graduation and lots of other information. Hope that's helpful for you. Our son Chase joined the Navy back on June 6 and has been in the Dep program. He was accepted into the Nuke program. He will go to Charleston, SC after boot camp for 18 mo of schooling. What is your son going to be doing?

Hang in there and stay positive. Be sure to write lots of letters and have family & friends do the same. Let me know if you need anything. Have a great weekend!

Janiece /SLC, UT
