I took him to hotel yesterday to sign in and he ran into another recruiter that he knew. The recruiter asked how he did on all of his physical training. Todd said he didn't pass the running. The recruiter asked why. Todd says that he didn't try hard enough. My son doesn't put a lot of effort into things. This is why I am so worried. I know that he is going to have a hard time. The recruiter talked for a half hour on what he needed to do. He also knew it was going in one ear and out the other.

Today we go see him swear in. I will see him one more time. MORE CRYING!!!

Good luck today. I don't know how I will get through it when my time comes.

I think that you will go to his graduation in a few months, and meet a "new & improved" son! The Military has been motivating men for a very long time. Welcome to the wonderful world of Navy Moms!

Let's pray for your son to realize the golden opportunity he has and to start training. Slackers in BC can create problems for everyone else in his unit. There is not much you can do other than be supportive. The rest is up to your son. Good luck.

Thank you all for your support. Today went better then I thought. Yes, I cried, but I also told him that I was proud and that I love him. Now I am waiting for my call, then the KID IN THE BOX. I met a mom there, and she was having a really hard time. I told her about this site and how much everyone has helped me. I hope she takes my advice and signs on.

Proud Mom. Way to go. I am sure that other mom was happy to have met up with you. Already you have make a difference in her life by sharing with her all that you have learned. "Paying it forward" is a phrase that applies often. Looking forward to hearing more.

I know the feeling. My son was swearing in this morning but we missed it so they did it again so we could be a part of it. We took pictures and I did not cry. I could not sleep last night because I was crying and I have been crying since I left him. He did not see me cry thank goodness. Somehow he sent a message to his brother on Facebook and I felt better. I can not wait to see my son.
