"What do you want for Christmas?"
Santa Claus asked me
I looked at him and laughed
"What I want isn't cheap."
The big man chortled, "Ho-ho-ho!"
And looked me in the eye,
"Try me." He said with confidence
As I started to cry.
"My Love's arms around me,
Lying next to me at nyte
His hand in my own
Warm, and cuddled up real tight."
Jolly Olde Saint Nicholas clapped me on the back
And said, "That's no problem! I'll have him in a snap!"
He clicked his fingers to fill her wish,
As he'd normally do
And frowned when nothing happened
"Why didn't he come through?!"
I shook my head and tried to explain
"Santa, can't you see?
My Love is off at Basic Training
Nothing will make him come to me."
His eyes sincere, he hugged me strong
"My dear, I am so sorry,
Whatever can I do?"
Sighing, I looked up to the stars
Shaking my head slow,
"Santa, all I want is to be with him
Everyday without him, my heart sinks so low
But each day I get stronger
With every single letter, I rejoice
And I know that I can do this
I really have no choice."
Saint Nick nodded his head
His red hat bobbing up and down
"It takes a special person to do this kind of thing,
Just the thought is so renowned!"
"Santa, it really isn't hard,
Love is the simple key
I'm pushing through this for him
Just as he is for me."
"The most respect to you."
He said with one big smile.
"But I really wish I could help,
Could you give me one more trial?"
"Actually, Santa, how about this?
Can you make January come extra fast?
The 20th to be specific
I don't want this lonely tyme to last!"
A sparkle in his eye, Santa did say to me
"My girl, I'll try my best for you."
As he got into his sleigh
"Until then, keep on going, and swift will come that day!"
As I watched him fly off
I wiped the tears from my eyes,
"I'm nearly halfway through this
And soon, I'll have PIR as my prize."
