Shame on the whiners and complainers at the airport this morning. The handful of young men and women that TSA passed through the line without making them wait aren't going on vacation. They're deploying on their very first mission away from home. What a way to send off our military by screaming at them how much longer YOU waited in line. Guess who will be defending your freedom this holiday season while you're decking the halls and Fa la la la la, la la la la-ing?

It is so not isolated. Sad but true. I have seen military personnel get spit on and called names. Kayla told me as she was going to A-school (dress whites ya know the drill) that folks stopped her and wanted to hug her and shake her hand. Some just yelled thank you from the other side of the hallway. She sat with another Sailor waiting to get his flight (going the same place but different flight lol) and older woman walked past about 5-6 young men to have this Sailor open their water!! The men they walked past were capable of opening it. Now they also never really looked at Kayla, they had to step past her also!! lol

I would much rather hear of these stories than the bad. I am so sorry this unit had to go through this. Yes you are right, while they are out having the blast of a holiday, these Seabee's will not be having this same fun. No Sailor, Soldier, Marine or Airmen on deployment will be. They are defending the rights of these idiots to scream and rant and rave.

A friend of Kayla was at a fast food restaurant and an idiot ask her if she was in the military, her answer a proud "Yes" he proceeded to tell her she was gonna get her head blown off and folks were gonna laugh at her.

Her answer was "Roger that sir, I enlisted just for you"!
It takes all kinds.....

People I know go out of their way to be kind to families with sons/daughters in the military. For example, I know of a landlord who could have gotten more money for a duplex unit but chose to rent to a military family instead at a lesser rent. Additionally there were other tenant applicants with much better credit and income. It's good to know that the subject incident only involved 2 couples. This statistic in itself is very encouraging.

They see this on the ID. and they also will get free baggage on most flights.

SeeBeeMomma- please let let her know Kayla is thinking about her. I should have given you Kays number so she could have text her. Maybe she already has it. IDK.... God Bless these kids. They go and do when others want to stay and complain.

@ Anti mad love and chuckles over salty sailorly terms. ha ha.
@ Tobianne I will most certainly tell Britt that Kayla sends her regards. I wonder if they are connected on FB?
So far we've spoken at least 1-2 times a day since deployment which is more than I thought it would be. :)
@ Everyone else, thanks again for the support. I do have faith that most Americans respect and support our troops. May you all be blessed and blissful this Holiday Season, for we truly have so much to be thankful for.
