For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Today is the day....
Can't believe it...it's been 5 1/2 months since my daughter was sworn in and this journey began.
So many emotions are going through my head right now. Miss her, nervous for her, excited for her, anxious to see her again...so on and so on.... And we haven't even dropped her off at the hotel yet. Tonight is going to be a night that I am never going to forget.
I know these next few days, weeks, months are going to have their ups and downs. But I do know for sure, that my daughter will be great at what she is doing and is going to enjoy it. Her father and I, along with the rest of our family and friends are super proud of her and this decision. It takes alot for a young adult to make the decision she has. And it's comforting to know that her best friend made the same decision and they can get each other through their enlistment. It's a shame that they were not able to do the buddy system. But hopefully they will meet up sometime in the future.
I sit here at the computer trying to figure out what more I can say, but all that I can think of is...I am so proud of you, my little girl!! I will miss you and love you to the moon and back. Take care, be safe and know that I am always here...

this too shall pass...my Sailor just PIR'd 8/12, staying in GL for A school and then onto the USS Nitze in VA...it was a wonderful weekend and the most excitment since his birth...we stayed at Ramada Inn - 79. and a great room and accomodations and only 3 miles and a straight shot from the base...it's on Green Bay and you just have to turn right and drive up to Buckly - turn left and go down 3/4 of a mile to GATE 8 to enter...we left at 6:20 and had plenty of time to get through the gate, parking & security & were seated in the first FLOOR section...if you need anything at all, just request to be my mom friend...Blessings, Cindy ps. letters everyday need to be written - not only by you but everyone..my son received the most mail out of his whole division. i posted his address on my fb and his fb and he was bombarded with letters and his 21st bd was in bootcamp also... call on me for anything at all...
