I should be cooking, I should be going to the store, I should be...I should be....I'm sitting still in front of the computer, reading post after post.
Does my brain really think procrastinating is going to make ANYTHING better or that if I procrastinate it won't happen?
Good grief, this mom needs to get a grip.
UGHHHH ... that is so negative....Here's the good stuff. I finally found a new cross necklace for my son and I gave it to him last night. His comment was "Thanks Mom, and I can wear this to boot camp?" followed by a big hug. But what my mind saw was my little kindergarten son asking if he really could take that toy for show n tell.
Those memories, these memories will keep me happy....I love my son (we all love our children) but I just don't think I ever knew how much I loved him until these last few days. He is my sunshine after the rain, my laughter in the middle of a sad story, my ice cream on a hot piece of apple pie. He is my million dollar baby and I desperately wish him the best of life...even if this momma has to be without him for a while.
can they have a necklace? I would love to know that I bought my husband a navy cross a long time ago ( I can't remember if it was before or after he got out of the navy) and I would love to give it to my son. I might wait till after PIR though.
From what I read they can wear a religious emblem
how was your party :)
It was very nice, very intimate....we only invited close family friends and family....I found myself just sitting there taking it all in....sometimes we forget to just "view the surroundings" and that's what I did.
Very proud of myself....only got choked up once and was able to hid it but it was when Great Grandpa (Navy - WWII) told Chas how proud he was and make the best of it and if you can, make it a career...it's one of the things he regrets most....that was just priceless.
I am glad you had a nice time, I am sure that was very moving.
I will have to remember that when we are having our party. I tend to be stressed the day of an event.
awww yay for your daughter! I think we are going to do open house style and my parents will be here so my step mom will probably help out too. I need to start making plans so I don't have to last minute everything which is why i get stressed. I always think "oh plenty of time" till all the sudden it is "Oh crap no time left" lol
I got choked up reading about Great Grandpa. It was very moving. I believe I would not have been able to keep my composure if I was there...
thanks happyfeet...it was tough, that's for sure
just keep it simple Amanda....and all will be good....I revised the menu several different times and still had too much food.
