Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

today's the day
I said goodbye to my boyfriend last night. He swore in this morning and is waiting to get on a plane in a few hours. I am pretty upset, which from what I am reading is totally normal now. He is my best friend and this is the best (most positive) relationship I have ever been in. We are both 33 years old and have been living together. I am trying to figure out some sort of a new routine and figuring out what goals I would like to set for myself over the next 8 weeks. I am an artist and a runner and I am currently in my third week of training for a marathon at the end of may. I am really just looking for a voice in this - maybe some advice - whatever makes the most sense.

wow! i remember saying goodbye to my boyfriend nearly 30 yrs ago... could it be that long ago?
First of all, it's so good that you got hooked up here and are journaling your thougths- reaching out is great for all of us to encourage each other. And secondly, even thinking about a new routine is impressive! Congrats on figuring out some goals and things that make YOU a better you. One of the best things a girlfriend or wife can do is take care of herself and not expect all of her happiness to come from her mate... i'll be looking forward to hear some of those plans/ goals you come up with. Your off to a great start!
