So I got another letter from my daughter today, was so excited until I read the letter... She is Grad-N-Go, which means I will only see her Friday, she leaves Saturday morning at 2:00am for Pensacola... I know I should be greatfull for spending at least 24hrs. with her since I haven't seen her in 2 months, but I wanted the whole weekend. I am sure that I am sounding very selfish but I miss her soooooooo much. We where going to do the whole 12hr. drive to Great Lakes, but think we maybe flying instead. I am hoping to see her in November for a week if possible, would love to spend Thanksgiving with her, I guess we will see how her schedule is. Just needed to VENT!!!!

Kim, I know it is hard thinking you will get the whole weekend with your new Sailor (congratulations by the way) and then you find out you can't. If it is any help you will now be able to talk to her about everyday after she gets to Pensacola. My son graduated in April and I can say he and I talk or text every weekday, he is usually busy on the weekends, although this is not the same as spending the weekend with her I hope knowing this will make you feel better. Navy hugs to you......

I just spent 22 hours with my son, so I know how it is. We fit so much in that I needed a day to rest the next day! Two days would have been better! I guess we take what we can, it's always sad to be expecting more and get half when time is so precious! Remember the days when they lived close by and this wasn't an issue? It is definitely an adjustment for me! I find they change so much too, so it's hard to keep up. I think it's harder to be the ones left at home.By the way, Kim you definitely don't sound selfish, you sound like you are making a great effort to see your daughter!! God bless you and your family, and I'll pray that you can fit two days into one! I would fly if you can, you will be much less tired for your visit.
