It's been two weeks and I have not gotten a phone call or a letter yet am starting to drive myself crazy. Wondering is he okay or not it seem like he would have been able to call home by now. Do anyone know how long it take to get a phone call and there first letter?
I know it is hard to wait Shawanda, they are only allowed to write on Sundays and not till their 3rd Sunday there. As for phone calls the only ones that are pretty much gauranteed are the "i'm here call" and the "i'm a sailor call" any in the middle area bonus.
You can be sure he is ok though because if he wasn't you would get a call and that is a call you do not want to get. Hang in there, join your PIR group, and jump on chat. We'll keep you company :)
You have joined the PIR group for his TG and you will see that others are also anxiously awaiting that first "real" letter, which they hope willl arrive this week since the recruits most likely were able to write on Sunday for the first time. Mail day for me was Wednesday, and sometimes Thursday, in Missouri, but your mail day may be a different day depending on how long mail takes from the RTC.
You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. There will be a lot of information and support for you in those groups as well as the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages and Discussions.
As has already been posted, remember, "No news is good news!" Here are some things that you do know: he is safe; he is physically fit or will be getting there; he is learning new things that will help him throughout his life; he is being fed well; he has any medical and dental needs taken care of; he is making friends; and you know where he is since he is at the RTC. If there was a problem, you would be called and that is not a call you want to receive. You have placed him in the best hands of all--those of God and the US Navy.

I will be waiting, and as some of you say, "no news good news"
