My daughter graduates Oct 7th as well.  I just received the call around 3 pm central, which I missed since I was in a meeting.  Aargh!

Did you hear yet from your son?

yes,  she said "Hi Mom, I'm officially a sailor and see you next Friday at graduation and I lover you". Did you try and call his recruiter?

I'd at least make a hotel reservation.  They book quickly and you can always cancel the hotel.

His recruiter won't provide me with any info.

Are you sure he is supposed to graduate on the 7th.  Olivia went to BC on Aug. 10.  I'm thinking he might be the following week.  You can ask the recruiter what the scheduled graduation is for Aug. 15.  Or try and go on FB https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand?ref=ts.  You can ask a general question and they are really quick to respond.  They've helped me on that site.

My son graduates on October 7 as well. His last letter said that the next scheduled call is on the 5th. They have to go through battle stations before they make the "I am a sailor" call. In the Navy, no news is good news. You should expect for your son to graduate on time, unless he calls to tell you otherwise. If he is delayed, they will give him the opportunity to call you to let you know. If his form letter had the date of 10/7, then you can expect that day. Book that flight, momma!

Olivia completed and passed battle stations yesterday.  That's probably why I got the I'm a Sailor call.  So if your son's division is not scheduled for battle stations until next week, it would make sense that you would not have received the call.
