Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED. Vaccinations still required.
**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Thanks for liking my photo. It is still my favorite to this day. Since it doesn't really show their faces I've always thought it would make for a fabulous greeting card.
Good moring. No still working through changes. But don't give up on me. lol... Anyway I have two sites trying to delete one keep other. Ya it's diffrent but lets just support each other. I'm all alone now. Daughter my move 45 minutes me. I miss both. It's funny but after PIR and the navy mom help from all the post helped so much. So once I fix this the changes hopefully I can return to helpful advise .

Hi proudmom! I saw the picture on the Recruit Training Command facebook page. My SR is in the 923 division and performed at Friday's graduation. He will also perform this Friday as well. There are many pictures of boot camp and I've been looking every Monday (that's when they post new photos) to try to get a glimpse.
You will find this site very helpful and full of members who are eager to answer your questions. Browse around the site and check out the forums, groups, blogs, photos, videos, and even the other member profiles!
We have a Survival Guide for Navy For Moms Newbie (clickable link). You'll find everything you need to get started. Videos, PDF files of boot camp processing days, links to all the important groups plus tips on how to use this site. Keep in mind the videos and PDF files may take some time to download the first time you try it. It'll look like nothing is happening. Be patient. Best part is it'll be here on your very own page as a reference. Click the MY PAGE tab on above menubar to access your page anytime - you should do it at least once a day to see if you have any postings on your comment wall (like this one). Good luck. NOTE to moms: your emotions are going to go through some real highs and lows. It's all part of letting go. It would be unnatural for you not to feel a sense of loss, even though you are very proud. That loss is saying goodbye to his/her "childhood" and their dependence on you, as his/her "mom" - it's a role we have embraced from their birth. How can we not feel something when it is changing FAST? Just stay with us. The Boot Camp Moms, Navy MEPS/Dep and the PIR groups are here to see you through from beginning to end.

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
You will also want to join GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for GM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/gm.pdf. You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. (See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.) Take care and blessings to you and yours.
