Today I am a proud grandmother of a Navy Recruit. Not only is my son a sailor but my granddaughter followed in is foot steps for her boot camp push out day for tomorrow. Today is a bitter sweet day. I wanted her to do something extraordinary with her life but now that the time is come it is hitting me hard. Harder than it hit me with my son a few years ago.
Thank you so much for your offer to take my sailor in for Thanksgiving. It truly makes me feel good knowing that there are familes that are willing to take in a sailor. I just said something to my son about it but he said a few of his friends might get together and make their own dinner. He is not too sure about it though. He said he would let me know. Thank you again I told him to let me know as soon as possible.
Hi sacred'smom! I saw your post on Meridian A-schools page and was wondering if you could tell me a little about your experience with it? (i.e. liberty, communication, etc.)
My husband is an LS set to go there (he's halfway through BC right now and you've guessed it...I'm halfway insane right now!) so I was trying to plan a trip to spend some time with him on a weekend about 3-4 weeks in because I figure he'll have liberty by then. I have reservations for the Navy Gateway Inn on base, so if the liberty is just for on base, I figured that would be good! :)
But yes, anything you have to tell me about it-tips and suggestions would be amazing! Thanks so much!
hey! you say youve lived in VA 20yrs. Maybe you can help me out. Im lookign at places in VA Beach but since i live 4 hours away i cant just make a visit to check out the places at night. Do you recommend and apartments that are in good areas. or any i should stay away from.

Hello Mother,
I went to the mail box yesterday and there was no letter. So sad. I go to the mailbox more than ever now. So excited for my first letter.
