Ok so the weathermen teased us!  We only got a little ice.  I ended up canceling my patients on Friday and seeing them on Saturday.  I am so excited about our boys!  I did get a letter Saturday from Gary and he has his orders now (yippie).  I can't wait to see him and I can't wait to meet you!  I feel like a kid again LOL.

Well the Houston is shut down because we have a little ice (LOL).  So I'm just taking it easy this morning.  They say it will melt off by this afternoon so I'll go and see some of my patient's then.  I didn't get a letter from Gary yesterday so I hope that I will today.  He is still up beat and I just can't wait to see him!!! It will be here before we know it!

Yes I know about being busy, I'm self employed so that translates into "I work all the darn time".  I don't think we have to worry, Gary's communications have been positive, and I read that all the Divisions have some that are slow to get with the program. The 31st can't get here soon enough!  I want that phone call!

I have gotten two of the surveys I sent back.  I was so upset that today was a holiday and mail wouldn't go out so he will get a bunch at one time.  How is Ryan doing?  You know, right now I live for Thursdays since that when his mail comes LOL.

This is so much easier now that we recieved phone calls and are getting letters.  Both weeks mine came on Thursday, so I guess it take 4 days from GL to Houston..LOL.  I'm going to buy my plane tickets this weekend...I'm so happy, we are half way there!

Hi Rysmom...so glad to hear from you!!!  I did get my first phone call today.  Yes there has been trouble in the Div but from what I gather they all do!  He told me that there are divisions that still have not been able to phone, so it can't be all bad. Anyway, I am not worried.  They have sent out the boy's uniforms for alterations so it is all still on.  I just can't wait for PIR to get here.  I can tell you that Gary sounded wonderful and he even said that the food is fantastic.  So it is officially Count-down time!!!

Hi, I have a fiance on ship 3 div 079, I'm new to this website and still learning how to search and finding information. Read so many information that really help me with this separation, it has been hard, I miss him so much and thanks to this site at least I know that I'm not alone. Has anyone from the the same ship and division received phone calls?

I do have my reservation made now.  I'll be staying at the Residience Inn Marriott Waukegan, so that will put me at about 3 miles from the base and it has a shuttle to and from the base.  Can you beleive that it is getting closer?  It seems our boys left a life time ago!

Hi RysMom....I think that I'm going ahead and make my reservations before they fill up.  Do you know which hotel you plan to stay at?  There are many.

It is hard!  We had Christmas the weekend before mine left, but I really miss him. I'm told that they will be completely changed when we see them next.  It seems like an eternity since he left and we still have a ways to go.

The first thing I did (per my son's instructions) was to log into his Face Book and post his address to his friends.  I hope they follow through (this generation isn't the best for writing). I didn't realize how much peace that letter gave me.  I figure our boys have one more horrible week.  From what I understand, after week three, they are more in routine and I think the worst of the PT is over.

I had good news today also!  It was the best Christmas present I could have recived (short only to him appearing at my doorstep).  I'm so glad we have a confirmed date so we can start planning.  Unfortunately, I don't have family here (just my exhusband's) so I will be solo.  I do have a wonderful support system of friends, which has been great.  Yes I miss him, but with this letter I am assured that he is progressing as he should and that is wonderful news.  I'll spend the day addressing the letters I've written, and writing him again.  Soon I figure he will get a whole load of letters

Yes we must!  This is the hardest thing I have been through and I have been suprised at the emotions attached.  Are boys have started an adventure of a live time and I am so excited for them!

Hey There RysMom23,
My son went to BC on OCT 26 he is ALMOST finished PRAISE THE LORD!! The week before we just tried to have fun, we gave him a party, cooked his favoirte foods and just talked. He was really excited to go, he even had them move his date from Jan to Oct. The time has really flown for him and us. I can tell you to write write and write him letters cards and funny notes. I have sent several newspaper clippings to Nick about his favorite sports teams. We have gotten an unusual number of calls from him, it was like one a week until Thanksgiving and now we haven't gotten a call since then. We have received several letters and he has even written to our other family members and friends that have written him. Hang in there just be positive !! I was really proud of myself when we left him at MEPS (after his swearing in) I didn't really cry (boo hoo sobbing). I tried to be strong for him, as bad as I wanted to cry I didn't. His box of things came about 8 days later and the formal letter on day 9. This has really been a neat experience for all of us and I can't wait to see him in 9 days :). Hope this helps hang in there you WILL MAKE IT!! I can't wait to see what his next journey has in store for us!! Best of luck to you my Prayers and thoughts are with you!
