Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."
**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).
**UPDATE 8/25/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED. Vaccinations still required.
**UPDATE 11/10/22 PIR - Vaccinations no longer required.

Mom's always notice and I know my son. I just keep hearing that they will be different when they come home. My son has always been very structured, responsible and loved having fun. I don't here the man I'm use to hearing
This last called had me very concerned because he did not sound himself. My son is very upbeat and spiritual. I have noticed his writing style has changed.
I'm trying to be strong for my other boys and hubby, but I so miss my first born. We all starting to notice the little things. My son loves cereal and I stayed running to the store for milk. Now milk and cereal just sit in the pantry. All the men stay focus by working out together....but what I'm I to do. He was my alarm clock in the morning, when he came in from work he would wake me up with music. He loves music, guess this is one of those days.
So glad to here that you just finished your last treatment. My son will be going straight to A-school after graduation. I'm walking around the house holding my phone so I won't miss the call if they get one today. My son told us don't worry about coming for Christmas, just saved the money and he would see us at graduation. My husband said it was best because he didn't want him to loose focus. Have a bless time with your son and hug him even harder for all us mom's.
I'm sorry you missed you call! I would be doing the same thing-listening over and over. He sounded good! His voice sounded even deeper-probably from all the shouting-and said it was tough but overall that he's doing good. He sounded strong, and said he was going to the commmissary to get some stuff and that they would be writing letters tomorrow (Sunday).
SO GREAT to meet you! I'm holding up ok. I'm keeping busy but I've had my days! Today I was missing Neil so much. I've been hoping to meet someone with a son in his div!
My son also arrived at Great Lakes yesterday and received my son's rushed phone call around 9:30. Don't know if you saw this website yet, http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ a lot of great information and they also stream the graduations live on this site, so family can watch. My name is Kim and my only son is Jacob We live in upstate New York.

So glad to here that you just finished your last treatment. My son will be going straight to A-school after graduation. I'm walking around the house holding my phone so I won't miss the call if they get one today. My son told us don't worry about coming for Christmas, just saved the money and he would see us at graduation. My husband said it was best because he didn't want him to loose focus. Have a bless time with your son and hug him even harder for all us mom's.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in November. You will meet others with loved ones leaving that day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there.
