How was the 21 year old's celebration?    Thinking about you and your SR this week.   Can you believe only 12 days left for you :)

No problem Huggybear.   I've got your back....a few hundred miles away but very close by computer distance.   I thought gas chamber because I read a post related to a 07/10 PIR.  My nephew is a former Marine.   He said they put them in a room with billy clubs and said "one has to come out"   OMG I would have dropped to the floor as soon as the door shut and pretended to be knocked out.    I don't know how these guys do it.   I got a small dose of pepper spray once - a mental pt came into the clinic with a knife, mad at the world and doctor.   We called security and they sprayed him down.  I was clinic manager, trying to shut the doors and got a small spray as he ran by.   Thought I was going to cough my lungs out.  As you can see I'm a winnie girl not like our brave strong sons.  Now back to you.    Take a slow deep breath and have the whole bottle of wine.    That's why they have taxis  or have your husband pick him up.  It's all about you until 07/10   then it's all about your SR.   The job will be what it's going to be.   I believe things happen for a reason and good things happen from bad.   ARE YOU BREATHING AND DRINKING LIKE I ORDERED?  (HA HA :) Put your energy on positive things like the PIR and seeing your son.  Now I will stop ranting.   I wish we had PIR together and that I could meet you.   I bet we would get along just dandy!   Hope you hear from him this weekend.

Thinking about you.   Just read on PIR 07/10 that gas chamber is tomorrow, they had firestation this week and BS 21 is Tuesday.   Hang in there Huggybear.   This stuff sounds scarey but you are one tough Navy mom.    My thoughts and prayers will be with your SR...and you.   Let me know when you get the "I'm a sailor call"   You are getting so close.

Huggybear,   saw you had posted under "Latest Activity" so I decided to check it out.   No I am not weird or a stalker but my kids would tell you differently.   Congratulations on your SR being named EPO.   How wonderful is that?   No flying under the radar now.   I know you are so proud.  You have something to crow about.  Have a good day.

New random pics out    Did you see your SR.   May I ask your last name?   Is this a private message before you answer.   If not, don't give me your last name.

Heard from Tyler today.  Sounded good and strong.  Had 2 wisdom teeth out this week and spent 2 days in bed per orders.  Said he got "really fused at " one day.  I didn't understand what happened but it's over now and he's ok.  He requested more addresses saying he has a lot of time to write on Sunday.  .   As you know it is so good for our heart to talk with them.  Hope you finally got a shower and the rest of your camping was uneventful.   Talk with you later this week.

You sound a lot better.   How did Ken sound?   Is he doing ok?  Did not hear from Tyler but that's ok.  So glad you got locked out of the shower.

Good Saturday Morning to you Huggybear.   If you're checking in on N4M while by the lake or campfire, I just wanted to check in on you.   I feel that I was way to hard on you yesterday - tough "Navy" love.   So I wanted to make sure you're pacing yourself on those margaritas or wine spritzers.  Hope you hear from him this weekend.   Smiles, hugs and happy thoughts to you.

Random brain thought:did you see the chat about showers?   Their (SR) showers are only 4 minutes long.   I saw where a mom put a sign in the hotel shower "Take as long as you need" for her SR after PIR.   Can you believe your son has been gone 4 Fridays and you see him in FOUR Fridays!   Can I have an AMEN.

Do you have the Navy app on your phone or N4M on your iPad and are you taking them with you camping?

OMG!!! How exciting!! I'm so glad to hear that and officer friendly didn't stop you!! My son doesn't usually like to talk either. I will tell you that when I got my call he was crying. I don't remember the last time my son cried. The letter I got from him on Wednesday. He apologized and said he realized how good he had it at home. He promised he won't be like that when he gets home. I cleaned his room today and there was a half inch of dust on his shelves, trophies and models. I swept under his bed. I took a picture of what was under there so I can send it to him.  I'm not expecting a call for another week or two because I just go one. I am very happy that you got to talk to him. Enjoy the rest of your weekend with a full heart. :)

Hello Huggybear,   Hope you are having a good weekend.   I was out shopping today, called my husband  and in the middle of the conversation he said "got to go, a pay phone call is coming in"    My heart sank.  I wasn't at home.   I remembered reading where some recruits had talked to their parents for up to 20 minutes.   I turned my car around so fast I'm still dizzy and that was 5 hours ago.   I sped home - thanks officer friendly for not stopping me- and got to talk with him.   My heart is so happy.   I still haven't received a letter - I don't think he has written one but the call was 10 times better.   He sounded great, chatty (not my usual son) and in good spirits.   I hope you get a call this weekend.   Thanks for putting up with my moaning and pity party.

Did you see the random pics on Navy RTC facebook page?   I think I saw my son.   It's true, they all look alike.     My son is tall 6'5" and wears glasses so that helps a little.   Good luck I hope you see him.

Hi Huggybear,   Just checking in to see how you are doing.  It's quiet here at our home.  Think about our son a lot.  And I'm on N4M too much.   Hoping to hear something.   Did you know there's a web site that list "what happens at bootcamp - day-per-day.   Also I've been on Facebook Navy page hoping to see a picture.   There were a lot for Mother's day and someone wrote they may post some for Memorial Day.   They also say to look hard cause they all look alike.   Well Happy Memorial Day to you.  Hope you have something fun planned.  This one is special with our men just leaving us.   Rose (deputydawgofduke)

I hope to see you in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).

Since you have a recruit at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."

Thanks for being friends.   I'm new to this site and learning my way around.   My husband and I will go to our son's swearing in.    Everyone on this site recommends it...even the dads on this site.     I plan to take off 2 days.   I'm a part time nurse, what type of work so you do?    Will you plan to go to PIR?

The Rating Information Card for GM can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/gm.pdf.

You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. (See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.)
