Thank you...the information here is very helpful.
My daughter is still in the very beginning stages in the process of joining the navy. Last wk she met with a recruiter and picked up her paperwork. She was weighed there and she had to lose a few pounds ( she's not heavy) because she was a little over max weighed for entry. She's already lost the weight so she meets again with recruiter on Monday. Meanwhile she has been taking practice tests online.
She is really excited.
I will keep posting updates

Thanks for the Welcome. I have been a Navy Mom since September. My Sailor is in NUK school in Goose Creek. Will be done in November and may see him closer to home for the rest of his schooling.

Crapola, I just realize that you go by a different name over at NavyDep.  I didn't put the two together until now.  There use to be a group on here that did what you are doing, but I'm not sure what happen to them.  Every so often I get a depper whose family disowned them because they joined the military.  When I find them, I will send them your way.  EVERYONE deserves a letter in boot camp.

Thank you.  I will check out the cards.  My son leaves for Great Lakes on July 5th.  I am trying to find out if booking a flight on Sept 6th is premature.  I think Southwest will allow me to change my flight later with minimal charges.  I need to get them now while they are cheap.  Other than that I am reading to see what Info I can get to help him out.  The cards are a great idea.  Thank you again.
