Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

All Hands Magazine's full length documentary "Making a Sailor": This video follows four recruits through Boot Camp in the spring of 2018 who were assigned to DIV 229, an integrated division, which had PIR on 05/25/2018.
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video:"Importance of Navy OPSEC."
Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass isno longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Congratulations!... I asked my son yesterday if he knows Adam... he told me that he already passed the final run and just waiting to do bs.. i want him to tell you the good news tho.. my boy is also ready for his final run and bs but im hoping they would let him rest for a few more days... he said A school for him is in GL too, just across the street fr boot camp.. pls keep me posted on what day you would b able to see him b4 A school...
I got it at 5:00 pm, i think it's 7:00 pm in Chicago. It was just a quick call. We we're supposed to leave vegas at 7:00 am (thursday) but decided to cancel the flight coz he told me they wont let us see him. PIR is over, can't stop crying again.. saw the pics of today's PIR at US Navy Rec Training command wall, so sad but i guess we have to stay strong...
Hi, tnx for the add. I know that it is very hard for us but with God's help, our sons will get there soon. Pls. let me know when you hear from him. My son told me that after he's done w/ BS, A school for him is just across the street from boot camp..
Keep your phone close too you!! Last night at like 11:30 I recieved a call from Andrew!!! He got a little choked up but was doing ok. There div just won some award and all seems well, battlestations next week so I wished him well and told him how proud we are of them all. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!!! acesmom, Hello there it's mom4life and you had sent me a e-mail to I think friend you on face book so thank-you for that though I'm horrible with this computer stuff. I just wanted to check in with you and say hello!! Only 18 more days to go!! I still have not got a phone call but I'm hanging tough. Wow this has been a long 5 weeks. Any news from your son at all?

Hi Acesmom! My son has had the same issues and I received another letter from him yesterday and he sounded like he has not gotten any of my letter. So I am real concerned about the address problem.
he was on the form letter ship09/div249 right? my son wrote me my first letter i got it last fri told me that they moved to ship03/div250 the new address is ship 03\div250 uss hopper 3600 ohio street great lakes il 60088-7105... lisaladybug has a son in your div said her sons stuff changed also so if you want contact her she can help you also and as for letters i have written my son didnt mention gettin those either but i was told that he would get them just might take a bit longer to locate them so no worries but i bet anything your son has same address as mine just different div
hi my son sent me the 09 ship on my form letter to but when he wrote to me he said his div was moved to ship 03 and the street address and zipcode changed he was on the uss hopper is that what you were told? if so that is the address you need to be writing to just wanted to help ya out good luck
