Hi Tabbi!
My son, is also Ship 9 Div 10, pir Dec3! We are from CA. Can't wait to see my boy in Dec...been planning since he left, as I am sure all do. Perhaps our boys are friends??? He's the (I guess bald now), redhead...usually not many of them around is why I point that out...
got news tonight that my son has finally received the letters i sent him. His girl friend told me that he had written her and told her he had. So he must have written mine and her letter at dif times. anyway just wanted to tell you moms he started getting my mail. Things up there must take a long time to distribute. God bless all of you and your loved ones.
Well, I got a letter from my son today! He says he likes it some days and others he almost gives up, but he is determined to finish so he keeps on going. He can't wait to graduate so he can eat some real food...their food sucks he says. Over all he is okay..just a little sleep-deprived. His letter is dated Oct 28th, and he says they all got their hair shaved on that day. He does say he can have hair someday no more than 4 inches long. one thing i don't understand is why he has not gotten the 3 letters i have mailed himhe says he is still waiting. So I guess I will make copies of them from here on out to show him i did write him.

(ship 09 div 10) I got a phone call from my son today!! He says he is doing well. He said they got woke up a lot at nite by about 10 of those guys who kept them doing push ups. He says they are to get 2 weeks off for Christmas. He never got my first letter I mailed him. I wonder if their letters are read b4 the recruits read them and maybe some are given out and some are held back..anyway I am just so glad to hear his voice. I haven't heard the word..Hey Mom I love u so much in 4 weeks. It was like heaven.
Man, I have heard of so many young men leaving because of panic attacks! I would think they would let them recover and continue on. So sorry Tabbi! I registered Dalton for his SAT's today. Also applied for college and a pell grant! I don't think we can get it for Jan. though. I think you have to apply for the entire year at a time. He wants to go to Law school, so we will just start at square one! Best of luck to you and Cam! HUGS!!!
Hey! What happened to Cameron? Man, something strange is going on. Over half the guys Dalton flew there with are headed home. Makes you wonder! So sorry honey! We are still picking up the pieces. That's funny about the facebook thing! He called today and I asked...but they only know last names..LOL!!!!! He said he'll ask around. That cracks me up. BIG HUGS TO YOU!!! O, Dalton is fine. We are just setting up a surgeon to repair the foot and set up SAT's etc to repair his pride..lol
I did! I got it today! I'm so excited. I wanted to plan the airline, but the airfare pricing is astronomical! My husband says we should forego the refundable tickets, saving us 200 on each ticket.
Looks like I'll see you at PIR. My name is Linda and my son is Brandon. Is your son going nuclear? I have really enjoyed this site; it has helped me alot. I still don't know how to post things in the right places, but I'm trying.
My son left on the 6th SHIP 09 DIV/016 I haven't find anybody in the same division,..... Hi everybody...I just read a post about BC now I know What are they gonna be doing for 8 long weeks, Itwas very interesting and I hope you all have read it too, I printed out and Im going to send it to my son and I hope I won't get in trouble for it or him, But it give me some kind of confort knowing what his going to go through, Wish all of them to survive the BOOT CAMP experience and get the best out of everything....GOD BLESS THEM ALL.
Hi Tabbi. Feel free to private message you. I know that we will be in Charleston because Ben is going into Nuclear Engineering and the Nuke school is in Charleston.
Not so far north as Presque Isle but then again there is not much that far up. I'm mid-coast...Camden. Missing the boy. Great kid soon to be a great sailor!
My son left LA on Oct 5th and we recieved the call the evening of the 5th and "the box" on the 8th. So far we haven't received the letter but based on comments by others I am expecting the letter in today's mail. I have been writing daily letters and would love to get them in the mail to him.
Tabbi, I don't know yet for sure. I wasn't able to get a hold of his recruiter on Friday to get his ship/division #'s. I should know by tomorrow. Hoping to get his box today.
You should!! I would love to chat with her! We had our wedding at the courthouse when he was finished with A school in Great Lakes, it wasn't idle but I still married the mad of my dreams so I was happy! Nice to meet you as well!
