OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

Hi Terri, My son is also on ship 11, division 296. Everyone seems so helpful on this site. Wouldn't it be nice if all bloggers were as respectful to each other as these ladies are? Just wanted to say thank you because you are the reason I joined this wonderful group of Navy Moms. When my son first left, the minutes passed like days! I can hardly believe PIR is now so close. I still get a little emotional when I think about him. I hope I don't embarrass him at PIR. I just want to hug him and never let go.

Yes Zach is doing well, sounded tired but it was late when he called. I took 2.5 minutes of the call and my husband had only a minute. Its hard to get all the answers and let them talk. I miss him just being around.
How is your son doing? They seem to like it.

Hello,we are staying at the ill beach resort. My son could hear everyone in the truck so he was able to tell there was others with us.He asks his brothers what they are doing too,he misses them so much,I can tell. They are the same with him.Joe's best friend is getting chemo and had time off from it this weekend, so he asked if he could take the boys fishing and all this past weekend. So Joe was happy about that. Its just I know he misses his favorite thing on earth which is fishing.LOL That bothers me and the missing him is so hard.I hope we get another call soon.

Hi bobterisch, I was saying the same thing to my husband. We weren't home but had the cell, and I said to him, I don't have the charger to the cell. Hopefully we don't get a call and loose him, a hour later he called we were on the interstate and pulled off so we could talk.It was a 15 min call so we were lucky with the phone. His brothers were so happy to talk to talk to him too. Also we had one of his friends with us so he got to say hi.I could here the sadness in his voice though that he wished he was with us all.I just cannot wait to see him.Joe likes his job there also, which makes it nice.So glad to talk to someone in the same div.Jen

We are lucky to be only a few hrs away, but will book our hotel this week. Zach will go to another A School, outside GL. He did not say anything on whether they have the weekend. He said he would call this week, so I will check then.
