Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Hi Marsha, I am lousy at navigating these sites! I did not know you had responded on the 15th either until just now. I had accepted a "friend" request from another Wa-Ore member, but her message disappeared as soon as I hit "accept" (This has happened everytime! ARGH!) so was trying to find where in cyber space it had been sent too! No luck yet: (   Well, my kid is out on the Alabama as a rider and he has been silent for over a week now. He had sent an email to his sister and my sister after our last contact so I don't know if he's just making the rounds or is truly in River City : (  I was surprised he had contacted me as often as he had before but he had warned me things were "hectic" so I guess he would say "I told you so!" He also predicted he would miss all the entire summer weather(July-August) and so far he's been right. I haven't emailed that he is right about that  because he is still not due back for at least another month and I think that would not fall into the category of "happy, fun, or encouraging" news :)) Speaking of "fun/funny" I am having a horrible time finding fun-funny clean navy jokes, short (really short) stories. Any advice as to where to look? And, what's new w your family? If your son is spending his time topside, I'm glad he has been able to take advantage of the warmer temps. Some body deserves to!!! Take are, Marsha, and I agree, let's stay in touch.   Jaki

I may already be a member of the group you pointed out...and it seems there is a ton of knowledge there from which I can learn about the FMTB.  I look forward to knowing more and hopefully becoming a bit more active on here!  Thanks again!

Hi Marsha, Again, I am gobsmacked at the thought of you having THREE kids serving in the military and your son doing one of the most dangerous jobs in the Navy as a corpsman w a depolyment in Afghanistan. You are an incredibly strong woman so I suppose that's why your children chose the fields they did. Although these two adjectives are often over used they REALLY do apply to you: Awesome and Amazing. I am honored to be your friend: ) Hey, by the way, do you know "Dor," a nuke mom? Her sailor is in WA, she has another son in South America w the Air Force and yet another son in Afghanistan right now w the Army Reserve. I think they are from the midwest but her sailor son is NOT happy w WA weather so I'm relieved to hear your's is doing ok w it:) Well, my "Navy" connection is through my son, Connor, who is a new STS(Sonar Tech, Submarine) and he is spending most of his time at the shipyard in Bremerton(and, yes, you did spell it right:) because his sub, the USS Kentucky, is in dry dock for a two year overhaul. All new submariners have to go through a long "qualification" process until they earn their "dolphins" so until then they are referred to as NUB: a Non-Useful Body. He is working hard on getting those quals done for obvious reasons:0  I know I am very fortunate because he is just a comparatvely short drive and then a lovely ferry ride away so I've been able to see him almost every weekend since mid June, however I know that luxury will come to an end sooner rather than later:(  Well, there ya go. My Navy mom story: }  So, again, glad you signed in and are you the one who used the "lurking" word? No, never!!!!   Everyone who is a mom, wife, fiance, girlfriend, sister, grandmother (and even the dads) deserve to read away! Can never have too much information or support, right? : ) Well, hope you have a great evening and look foward to any and all insights you want to share. Jaki  (PS: Oh, my dad was a 19 year old Navy corpsman assigned to the Marines during WWII. Just by devine intervention he ended up in the Phillipines rather than storming one of the beaches on Japan. Hallelujah for that!)

Hi Marsha, How is your sailor doing? Have you checked out Molly's Adopt A Sailor lately. Our Oct. adoptees requested Christmas, so that is what we are doing. Our "official" Christmas group will be announced Nov. 1. Best wishes to you and your sailor. Pat

Hi Mike's Mom, Welcome to Molly's Adopt A Sailor!! For information on what and how we do things, go to Molly's group page and on the right side below the member pictures, click on "New Moms Read First". If you still have questions, please do not hesitate to send me a message.

The July adoption is going to be a little different than normal. This is the FIRST time we have been able to adopt a submarine!!! We are very excited about this but there are still a couple of details to be worked out with their Ombudsman. All information will be posted as soon as it is all set!.

Also, are you aware that we are in the Pepsi contest to win money for our troops? If you need info on that please let me know too! Thanks for joining us and hope to talk to you soon! Pat

Thanks for writing to me. I was raised as a Jehovah Witness so everything has been so different. I'm not a JW so I really don't have anybody to talk to. I am so proud of my son. He is the 3rd son. I have 4 boys.

Hi Marsha, nice to meet you too...My HM3 (FMF) Joshua has been in Afghanistan with an ETT since about 4/1. He is assigned to the 3rd Marines out of Okinanwa, where he was for two years after FMBT. He's moved a few times already 'over there' and is currently with the 2/5 in a very far far away RCOP. I have spoken to him a few times on a sat phone, and mail is trickling (and I mean trickling) out to them. Joshua's joining the Navy has changed both of our lives. I have met the most amazing women through the Navy Moms On Line group (through Delphi Forums). And the support from total strangers through Navy For Moms and Facebook has been so wonderful, especially now that Joshua is deployed for 9 LONG months. Thanks for the friendship...

Marsha,

I'm here for you girl! Proud of you, you made the phone call you needed to make to get some answers! You didn't let it get you so rialed up that you over reacted! You're a great mom and I can tell you're a very warm person. Glad you're feeling better. Keep me informed on that homecoming party. TONS OF HUGS! Bugsy
