Thank you Tiffany, I feel like I don't know what I'm doing with all the different things to read I feel overwhelmed, it's as if I'm doing something wrong. I've had friends who invited me to be on Facebook but I just wasn't interested to be bothered with social media. I hope to get better because I really want to support my son and to be able to see what's going on with him. Thanks again. Angel#77

Thank you, Tiffany! I have already learned so much and I have much more to learn. This wonderful website makes it so much easier to navigate all the unchartered territory of Navy Life, as my son is the first in the family to enter the military.

Hi Tiffany,  thanks for the warm welcome.  I can't believe it took me this long to find out about this site.  My daughter has been in GL since mid July and will be PIR on Sep 11th.  I let her know that's an important date in US History and now she will have a connection with this date.  Looking forward to coming to IL next week.  I can't wait!!

Hi  Thank you a lot.  My son made it and I made it to graduation! It was a big accomplishment for him.  He looks so proud of himself and I hope that he does good in school.  I was just not happy about the Navy thing, for many reasons mostly he is my only son.  I was so surprised how the Navy ppl treated me with such respect.  I have never been treated so nice and taken care of  so thank you Navy ppl because you are all very awesome!

Hi Tiffany. I really appreciate for welcoming me. I never knew about this blog/forum not until me and my husband were making our itinerary for my son PIR 9/4/15. We were researching on the web, what to expect on graduation and A-schooling. I'm really new to this, we never had any in our family in the military service.

Thanks, for the welcome, Tiffany. My son is Pat, PIR 9/25 SHIP 12 and DIV 324. I changed my name to GoalieMom, as Mom2Pat is also a "goalie" mom. Pat is a hockey goalie. Just found out that he got his dog tags, NWUs and passed his swim test. He's been at boot camp just under three weeks.

Thank you so much! Really looking forward to graduation and seeing my grandson again. I've written him everyday. To date, I've had one letter.

He's excited about everything! Loving the Navy and I'm encouraged about his decision.Georgia

Thank you so much for the warm welcome.  I am so thankful that I found you all.  My son, Joe, is 17 and has been dreaming of joining the armed forces since he was 11.  He  tossed around Marines or Navy.  It is all Navy now and his hopes are to be a Navy Seal.  Many emotions from me, as you can all imagine.  I need to search more on the site.  Joe is speaking with a recruiter now and we will be going to see him soon.  I would love to find a thread on "questions to ask recruiters" .  Any suggestions?  Thank you again xoxo
