I've never been on anything like this before so please excuse me in advance! My son left September 17th. We got his call saying he made it and his box of stuff. But haven't received his form packet yet. So just any kind of info would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure he is loving it but mom is not dealing with it to great.

Thank you!  Lots of helpful info here! My daughter left for bootcamp on Sept. 16 and I'm waiting for her box and letter.

Thank you!  I'm finding so much helpful information here!  I have a question about these "coins" that people are purchasing for their grads.  Do you know what they are and how to get them?  I'm trying to figure out what to bring my grandchild for a graduation gift.  I don't want to haul a bunch of heavy stuff cuz I'm travelling a long way.   He'll be going to A School in Great Lakes.

Thank you for the welcome! My daughter is a senior in high school and we have been talking to the recruiters a lot, she wants to join the navy and my husband and I are behind her 100 percent.. I will. It lie I'm worried she is our only child and the love of my life, she will be taking the asvab test in October, she's very nervous, but they gave her a pre test the other day and said she scored really well. Do they just tell you that?

Thank you for the warm welcome.  My son just enlisted and will swear in on Thursday.  He still needs to graduate, so he won't go to Great Lakes until June.   I'm sure, as the time nears, I will have questions.  For now, I'm enjoying reading and learning about what is to come.  :)

Thank you for accepting me.  My son just left for boot camp this week and this looked like a great forum to join.  How do I change my profile name?

Thanks for any help. I can't breathe most of the time when I stop and think about what is going on with everything. I cry for no reason randomly. I work nights and out of town to not have to stay home too often. Can't handle it. My daughter is starting high school but is going through "that phase" so I'm letting my husband deal with her on daily issues. I've not had panic attacks much before but find myself having them several times a week even if just for a few minutes. My BFF tries to help since her oldest joined the USMC last year. Otherwise, wondering if this is just normal? ?

I asked a question but did not find the answer.  I want to join the Navy, I am 23 and love to serve my country -- but I am a single parent of a five-year old child.  Is there any way my child can go with me?  I assume that this would be after boot camp.  Thanks, girlfriend
