OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Heard IC time changing

Hi Everyone. I have been reading and trying to stay informed. My husband just read a blog post from NavyDads. A navy dad's daughter called and she told her Dad that they just changed rules again. It effects 13-10 and later classes. Instead of being an IC for 3 weeks, they will only be an IC for 2 weeks then they become OCs. Also...SWOs may be getting their shipping assignments 6 to 7 weeks into training and will ship out right after graduation. My son is in SWO. We'll see if this is indeed what… Continue

Email today!

I have been sending a card everyday. I'll be glad when he can start opening them. I never heard which group he is in. I haven't received a formed letter yet either. Just waiting...Seems like this week went by so slow! I bet even slower for him. I'm saying prayers for all LOs and their families.

Just received a "Good Night" call. Won't hear from our son for awhile. That will be the hardest part, not being able to text him or send him a facebook message (to get a response). :o( You can bet I will be sending cards though. I did much better than I thought I would today when we took him to the airport. Of course there were tears but not out of control tears like I feared. I'm saying prayers for all the students of the class 13-10. Praying for focus and strength.
