I look forward to get to know another Bear Aces mom. My Sailor is an Airman Apprentice. He has been in the Navy since September 3rd, 2013. He's been on the Bush since they left for deployment he's stationed in Norfolk.
My son left Monday for GL.....called 11.45 sounded a bit stressed...not his usual voice....I got his box today I missed it yesterday!!....now looking forward to the form letter!!
I could have written the very same words. The day before he left was Mother's Day. My son spent it with his girlfriend and her family. He came home for 15 minutes to hand me a plant (the girlfriend bought it). He went to her prom a couple of weeks before and never invited me to take pictures or be a part of that. He invited her whole family and even took a family picture with them. He invited them all to our house to park cars and walk to a scenic place for the pictures. I came home from work surprised that there were so many cars and people here and surprised, saddened that I did not even know about it. SO, you are not alone. Mine was also rude for months before. BUT, I grew up a child of the Air Force and I know that before separation, we fought. I always believed that it makes it easier to separate from the people you love if you are angry with them. It is not as sad. In the 4 weeks he has been gone he has called twice. He has called his girl 4 times. He has written twice, written her multiple letters. I love her, so please know that I am pleased that he is attending to her. I hope she remains in our lives. She helped him see that he was being mean to us. I believe BC will help your son understand that all the things you have done for him over the years will make sense. It seems to have for us. But, again, I will wait and see. Just so you know, you have a friend. Let me know if you want to "chat"....
