Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

picking up PIR tickets

My son left for boot camp on 5/24/2019-- after reading posts on this website about having an ID to pick up tickets for PIR, I have a question.  My other son is 16 and does not have an ID or a drivers license.  Will we need to go get him an ID to get his ticket, or will his birth certificate work?  TIASee More

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

Also update your "A little about me:" section to indicate that you have a Sailor. ("I am the mom of a Sailor." or "My son is a Sailor.") Keep it general and you won't have to update it often.

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.
