Orca (Sailor's Mom), Thank you for your message. Congratulations on your sailor's graduation and happiness with the Navy. May God bless him & your family. Glad you got to spend time with him, even a few hours makes a difference. Thank you for his service to our country. Blessings.
Hi Orca, Welcome to N4Ms. How are you doing? It sounds like your sailor is in bc, is that right? Hang in there. You will be so proud at graduation. My son has been in the Navy almost 4 years now. Finally got his first deployment in September to the Pacific. I thought I was prepared but since they cannot tell you specifically when they are leaving, I was a bit shocked to read in the headlines of navy news one day that they had deployed several days before that. It rattled me a bit. I kept thinking of all the things I should have said, wish I had said, etc. And, not being able to give him a hug before he shipped out was hard. But he called from his first port and said, "Hi Mom, I'm in S. Korea." He sounded so happy and confident. He wants to see the world and has been in training all this time so he was excited. He and a group from the sub were going to walk around the town they were in to see what they could see. He said the town was shut down for a holiday so they didn't know what they would find. Have a good day and keep heart. Blessings,
