OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

I needed to learn more about "Navy," not because I questioned the wisdom of a military career, but I did not know why my daughter chose the Navy, when my family is all Army and my husband's is all Air Force. I soon learned that my daughter did her homework, and that the Navy is 100% right for her.
Our Navy experience so far...

Hello.  I just saw this...sorry I am not able to get on all the time.  We are all in this together.  I am hoping I get a call this weekend.  I can't wait to hear what he is doing...can't wait to see him.  Planning on going to the PIR...see you there!

Hi! Thank you for the friend request! My daughter left on the 19th! Just like everyone in Div 910 we have not heard from her! I would just love to hear her voice and know she's doing ok. There is a page for division 900/800's my daughter has no musical talent and if she's doing flags you had better duck and cover! There are people who do behind the scenes work, assisting VIP's, handicap people, making sure all runs smoothly and lots of other things that sound like my little SR! Look on my page and you will see a couple of replies that really explain what our SR's are doing the links are there too...I have no idea how to send them to you as I'm not the most computer literate!
As always if my SR were here she would show me how to send them to you! I really miss not being able to talk to her..being able to ask wheres this or how do I do that or do you want to go to the grocery with me? She is my buddy and I really miss her terribly!
I will post when I finally get a phone call or a letter from her- I promise!
Have a good day and I will check in later! ⚓️ Be strong!

Good evening! So is your daughter musical and that's how she ended up in the 910 division?

I see you have joined your PIR group; I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.  The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 910 is Sticks/Flags. You may want to check out Mom’s of Navy Daughters, Mom's of Daughters 2, and Women in the Navy. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

I see you have joined NUKE moms; you may also want to check out Nuke School Charleston and Nuke A School FAQ. The Rating Information Card for NF can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
