Well I dropped my son off last night at the hotel and he will go to MEPS today then fly to Great Lakes. I felt like a piece of me was gone because him and I have always had a close bond. I am afraid that the bond will not be as strong any more. I know that eight weeks go by fast but it doesn't make it easier. I know that I will get his personal belongings back in the mail some time this week. After that I have no idea what to expect. I have heard all types of stories that the recruitor will…

So how are you holding up these days? I am doing pretty well. Zack has been gone a week today and I was able to get my hands on his address so I can send my letters. I did find out his address so I can send some letters and he is in div 036. Hope you are doing okay...Babette
I understand. Zack is my youngest so its really hard. I am missing him terrribly and his girfriend is having a really hard time. I know he is doing great though. You will not lose that closeness I am sure of that, this is such a great experience for them and they sure will get to see so many places. I am actually envious of him. If you ever need to talk I am here. Have a great day..:)
The recruiter told me also to call next week and they would give me the address to write. You can write the letters, but don't think we can send them yet. I am starting my first one tonight and am just gonna hold on to them and number them and send them all at once. I went to MEPS with Zack and saw him sworn in and got to take pics. I did not want to leave, but have to let them grow up. I am heartbroken, but so very proud of his choice. Here to talk to if you need..anytime
Thank you add. Where did your son leave from. Zack left from Fort Jackson. I spoke to him all throughout the day after we saw him sworn in and then he gave me his final call @ 2:45 a.m. It is hard to think I can't talk to him for 3 weeks...How are you handling all this? Babette
Hi Maria - thanks for the add. Glad to help out in any way I can. We are all in this together!! :)
