OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Profile Information

A little about me:
wife of retired naval dental officer, who is recently disabled.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
A navy wife needs strength, patience, flexibility, ingenuity. As a navy mom I find that my role is more of encourager. My daughter is older than the usual recruit, 27, and married to a SeaBee. Her desire to join the navy came out of the blue and frankly took my breath away. I'm just happy she is too old for nukes, because I do want grandchildren, and if she went nuke she would never see her husband. I'm very happy for her, and proud. The navy is a splendid career.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi jewel - welcome to PIR 12/17/10 Group! We hope you find friendship, resources and support on our pages. WOW! I bet her decision did take your breath away. On our group page you will see an opportunity to join a discussion group by Ship/Div. Your daugher is on the same ship and in the same div as my son. There are some other discussion group pages that provide helpful information as well. Enjoy the music; once you get past it pulling at your heartstrings, it is wonderful and really helps you focus on the end goal or witnessing your SR's graducation from Navy BC. I expect you will have some great additions to our page since you have a Navy background beyond what most of us have! We are looking forward to your friendship!
