mompinon,
Aww such sweet comments from you!! Thank you!! I will say that they Navy has changed quite a bit since I was in. We didn't do half of the stuff our girls get to do today!!! Sorry couldn't help you with the LOC thing. I even asked my daughter who just got out and she doesn't know either!!
mompinon,
Thank you for your kind words!! Unfortunately I don't recognize being held back for LOC and I'm not sure what that means. Your daughter is in bootcamp now correct? Is she being held back or is it someone she's telling you about? I know recruits can get held back if they get seriously sick, or injured, or if they are seriously failing. So not sure what the LOC would stand for. Sorry - - but if you find out please share!!!!! Hope your girl is doing well and you won't have to worry about that!!!!

mompinon,
I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support. Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!! We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever. It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!! Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!! I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter is in bootcamp now. I live in Waukegan about 3 miles from Recruit Training so I can help you with hotels if you want. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll tell you what is here and how close it is. Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
N4M is just one more set of letters we have to start learning! lol (Navy 4(for) Moms). There's a huge learning curve with all of the acronyms! We're trying to be as organized as possible. I'm curious if you know how much "stuff" we'll be able to give to her as she leaves for A school? I know we can't give her anything at graduation but I've read some posts about being able to see her at the airport before she leaves for A school (I realize that we won't know when or where so this may be a mute point) and being able to give her cell phone to her. Just trying to figure out the packing stages. I know it's way early, but we have a crazy year a head of us.
Don't have any advise on where to stay, but will be checking replys so that when it's our time i know! lol. We're in Tempe as well. Not sure how much to trust recruiter's, but am trying to recognize how responsible my daughter is and how much research she's done heading into this. I just pray that the job she wants is available. And can't wait to finally know when she will leave (don't know whether to cry now, or save it up!). Have you talked much with your daughter since she left?
