Today has been hard. I'm always texting one of my grown children asking how's it going, good luck on your first day, or some such thing. Not being able to check up is hard, so waiting on the form letter so I can at least write. So very proud of his choice

Welcome AviationMomJoin - be sure to join this group for boot camp moms.

You'll find answers to most of your questions there.  You should receive the official form letter in about 9-14 business days.  Once you get that you can join your SR's PIR group.

Hang in there!

Hello, I understand. My son left on November 12 and not being able to check in on him or talk to him has been more difficult than imagined. Lots of prayers and tears. And a lot of cleaning, painting , house chores, running just to stay busier than usual. Hang in there!

Hello, my son also left on the 20th. Many sleepless nights so far wondering what he is doing (and if he’s slept yet!) Hoping this gets a little easier as the days/weeks go on..

My son also left 11/20. What is the expected PIR?

Jan 17 or 24. Thanks everyone sharing. I don't feel alone with my worries.

My son left on the 20th also. I was misty eyed but didn't cry. My heart is with him- he knows it. I actually changed jobs recently and that has helped. Each day is closer to hearing from him or closer to graduation. I think that's when I'll be crying like a baby.  When I see him-that will be the test-if I can keep it together.  Sending good vibes to all to help them through their loved ones BC.

My son arrived at boot camp today, and I just received his phone call. Mixed emotions, as I’m very proud, but of course sad he’s gone.

To try to figure out when PIR will be, count 9 Fridays including the Friday of the week he left. it could be the week before or the week after depending if he went in and filled a Div. or if he has to wait for his Div. to fill. These sites will answer some of your Questions.

I dropped my son off at MEPS yesterday for him to ship out today. I know he will have a long few days up ahead, but for now I'm just waiting on the I have arrived phone call.

Our son also entered RTC on 11/20. It has been hard not being able to talk to him or know how he is. He called this past Tues. and said he got sick and had to drop back a division and he sounded a bit emotional. That leaves us with more questions and worried. Although we called the recruiter...he did say that does not always mean his PIR is bumped from what we understand. We weren't sure if he called us at the end of the sickness or the start. We did get a division number, but are not sure if it is the old or the new. trying not to worry and hang in there. I wish our kids knew how tough this is on parents too.
