Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Form Letter - Hooray!
Finally the form letter and a personal note. Hallelujah! Question please - he wrote on the form letter to please post his address on Facebook so he can get lots of letters. Is that okay? I don't want to do anything wrong...

I did not post my Sailors address on FB (Learning to use PERSEC and OPSEC) however I did post that anyone who wanted to send him letters could message me for the address. I also wanted to stress to those who were writing about the "rules" (plain envelope, NO Glitter, NO musical cards, NO Perfume). If I felt that they would not or could not abide the rules then I asked them to write a note (in person or via email) and I would include it with my daily letter. This allowed me to share and keep him safe too!!

Good morning, I would not put it on facebook, but rather put on facebook for those that want to write him to private message you and you will give them his address. That way you aren't violating OPSEC or anything. Just a thought.
Also, I had on my page for people to put a note of encouragement in the comments section and then after a few days I printed all of those and mailed them to her. She loved it.

Before my SR left for BC, he gave me phone numbers of those he wanted to hear from and asked that I let them know his address once I had it. I only gave his address to those people (including family). Perhaps, you could ask him in a letter who he would like to hear from instead.

YAY!!!! Send stamps (I also sent envelopes and last week sent a pad of paper) They only have a little bit of time to write, but they are given some time on Sunday to write letters... so don't expect many from him - but keep sending them TO him :)
I posted on my FB page asking people (ok - telling people) to comment and I'll print it out and send it to him - People have great intentions to write - but rarely do - these words of encouragement will be good for his soul :)
