When I go to the store to buy his calling card, all I can find is for cell phones.  Has anyone had luck finding calling cards that will work with the pay phones at the RTC?  I didn't have this trouble when my oldest went to BC three years ago.  If you found a card, where did you purchase it?  Thanks!

We found ours at WalMart on the big gift card rack. I've heard others say they found theirs at Walgreens.

What kind of card did you get?  Do you know the brand?  Thanks for your help!  All I can locate are the cards with prepaid minutes for cell phones.  I will try there tonight!

Yes,It was an AT&T card.

Thank you so much!

I found a PennyTalk card at CVS. you can also purchase minutes online through PennyTalk. I like it because I can keep track of his minutes and add more if it's needed.

That is a great idea.  Thank you!

You're welcome! :) PennyTalk is what I've seen other moms say worked great for them... So it was an easy choice lol

Someo e else told me that most of the pharmacy chains have everything them.  Getting mi e tomorrow

I had a hard time also but it's a pre paid calling card not phone card. It was very hard to find. I found it at rite aid. Ask an employee for help if you can't find one. I bought a 650 minute calling card.

I was able to pick up the last calling card they had at Walmart last night.  I picked up a book of stamps as well, so he is good to go. This is one less thing I have to stress over :)  Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

My son leaves on Monday the 12th as well. We are allowed to send pre-paid phone calls with them or do we send them later on?

Joni, you can send the calling card with him, but he is also also able to buy one at the NEX or you can send it later. See 1 h. in Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for.... That link is on your My Page also.
