In just a few short hours we will bring him to the hotel and he will leave tomorrow. I can't believe this day is already here and can't describe the feelings running through me today.

He's ready to start this journey and I am so proud of him and the courage he has (they all do) to do this. I only wish there was more time but even if there was, I don't think that would make it any easier...

Give me strength...

I understand. I was in your shoes two weeks ago. I was a mess when we said goodbye. I'm amazed at how calm I've felt the last two weeks. I know this is what he wants and he is starting his new life and future. But, I still miss him. You'll do great!
NicksMom, thank you. It's been a "joke" in my house how one minute I am perfectly fine, laughing, etc....the next, I'm crying. We've only had two weeks to prepare for his leaving so I think that is adding to my emotional state. I know with time it will get a little easier to handle but today...today is the hardest yet. I can't imagine how he feels.
We had more time to prepare, he swore into delayed entry on 11/30/16, but the last week was the hardest. I got more hugs from him the last few weeks. He started a few months before with "I'll be too busy to miss you, Mom", to "Mom, you're going to miss me", to "Mom, you're going to miss me and I'm going to miss you!"
The hugs....sooooo many hugs, more than ever! I wish I could bottle them up!
We dropped our son off yesterday, we watched his swear in then waved to him one last time as he left for the airport. Was a long night due to flight delays from weather and waiting for our last call which came at 2am. Today I am exhausted and an emotional mess, lol. We are so proud and I can't wait for graduation now to see his transformation. I will count down the days and pray for him every day and for all our kiddos on this journey. Love and hugs to us all.
New BC Moms....check out write2them.org. Our sailor enlisted Oct 2016, was in DEP and scheduled to leave June 2017, was told there was an early opening and with 9 days notice we watched him swear in and leave us the first week of February. I was a wreck and Write2them.org was great...definitely worth every penny. He graduated April 7th and is now doing well at Goose Creek.....when he was originally sheduled to not even have left yet. I'm just glad the past 4 months are in the past. He did far better than I did, but we all survived and we couldn't more proud of our sailor.
Our son went through MEPs yesterday but was taken by his recruiter. However, he didn't go to the airport until this morning for a 10:00am flight. We got to Facetime him at the hotel and text/talk to him in the morning so it made it a little easier to have him gone. Now we are just waiting for the call that he's there.
I know they are all in good hands and it is up to them now to get through to PIR.
@SaltyMom17...I was a wreck having to let him go, but we've got this. We are all here for you.
